Philanthropy

From the time of our founding, Alpha Delta Pi has believed in the importance of giving back to our community. A dedication to philanthropy guides our members to spend time in the service of those who need it most. Our international organization’s commitment to Ronald McDonald House Charities has led to the donation of over $15,000,000 over the course of our partnership. More than 350 Ronald McDonald Houses in 64 countries help keep families with seriously ill or injured children together when they need it most by offering them a comfortable, temporary residence in proximity to a medical facility.

Ronald McDonald House Charities

Since 1979, Alpha Delta Pi has been committed to serving Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC). Over the course of our partnership, Alpha Delta Pi has contributed more than $19 million to this worthwhile cause. Local RMHC Chapters operate Ronald McDonald House®, Ronald McDonald Care Mobile®, and Ronald McDonald Family Room® programs in local communities.

Today, more than 375 Ronald McDonald Houses in 62 countries help keep families with seriously ill or injured children together when they need it most by offering them a comfortable, temporary residence in close proximity to a medical facility. In addition to donating money to this worthwhile cause, many Alpha Delta Pi collegiate chapters and alumnae associations spend their time and energy volunteering at these Houses. Max Gruver Foundation

The Max Gruver Foundation is a non-profit organization working to end hazing on college campuses nationwide.

Max Gruver was a freshman at Luisiana State University when his life was taken from a hazing event on September 17, 2017. Shortly after Max passed away, a journal was found where he wrote, “God works in funny ways. he does bad things sometimes because in the end they are good. Something bad may happen to you, but it may happen because it will make you better. He does bad to ultimately create good.” This was the motivation to create the Max Gruver Foundation.

Max Grover’s mother, Rae Ann, ran home to Alpha Delta Pi at Clemson University, ultimately sparking the partnership between ADPi and the Max Gruver Foundation in 2018. During National Hazing Prevention Week (NHPW), chapters can share Max’s story and spread awareness on their college campuses. NHPW is an opportunity for campuses, schools, communities, organizations, and individuals to come together and talk about hazing, raise awareness about the problem, educate others, and promote the prevention of hazing.
