Alpha Delta Pi is proud to be the first secret society exclusively for women. Founded on May 15, 1851, at Wesleyan Female College in Macon, Georgia, our sorority is rich with tradition and sisterhood. Alpha Delta Pi sisters strive for excellence in philanthropy, academic performance, and campus leadership. In keeping with our motto, We Live for Each Other, our members have found a place for support, shared values, and personal development. Opportunities abound for the sisters of Alpha Delta Pi, and we look forward to sharing them with you.
“In the beginning, when I came to college, joining a sorority was something that I was not against, but something that I decided was not for me. During my freshman year, my mother passed away. The second half of my freshman year was tough, and although I was surrounded by amazing friends and family, I found myself searching for the kind of support and strength that she had always provided. This sisterhood offered not just a community but a family, a group of women who are powerful and determined and are not afraid to push each other to the best that they can be. Grace has been the big sister that I never had. She has encouraged me in my faith and friendships, and that is something I will always be thankful for. The bond I share here has become a source of security and empowerment, helping me heal while also encouraging me to grow into the woman I aspire to be. Through this experience, I learned that while loss can be incredibly painful, it can also lead you to unexpected sources of strength and connection – and to me that is alpha delta pi”
“I’ve been lucky enough to grow up with two younger sisters who I have a very deep and strong connection with. They mean the world to me and I wouldn’t be the person I am today if it wasn’t for them. As a freshman going through recruitment I was looking for a group of girls that had a close knit and loving bond like my sisters and I. ADPi was the only chapter where I walked in and immediately felt at home. Talking to the girls in the chapter came at ease and I felt safe. Throughout my time at ADPi I have found sisters that truly support me, cheer me on, and are there for me when I’m having a hard time. My big Anslee has been my biggest role model and support system over the past few years. She has guided me through many challenging times over the years by giving me advice or just being there to cheer me up! Anslee truly makes ADPi feel like my home away from home and for that I am forever grateful. Choosing to be in ADPi is one of the easiest decisions I have ever made and I would do it again and again in every lifetime!”
“Going through recruitment I knew ADPi was the right place for me, the instant connections I made with the girls just felt like home! The conversations flowed so naturally, and the laughter we shared was unlike anything I’ve ever experienced. Each girl I met welcomed me with open arms and made me feel like I was already part of the family from the very beginning. The amount of love and support that I have felt since becoming a member has been amazing. Whether it’s cheering each other on during tough times or celebrating our successes together. Joining ADPi was the best decision that I have made since coming to Wilmington. I have definitely found my forever friends and the people that will support me through the rest of my journey! The memories I’ve created, from late night laughs to spontaneous adventures, are moments I will cherish forever. I am so grateful to have such a genuine sisterhood and a group of girls that will be there for me no matter what!!”
“I joined ADPi because I was looking for a place where I could be authentically myself, and also be surrounded by women that did the same! I knew I found my sisters from the first conversation I had in ADPi’s philanthropy round. From the get go, the girls made me feel like my passions mattered, I was appreciated and valued, and my presence was welcomed with open arms. The best part of all that is that feeling has stayed to this day, and I couldn’t feel more blessed to know that I have forever friends I would never have found anywhere else! ADPi will always have the most special place in my heart.”
“Choosing ADPi was the best decision I could have made for myself! I came to UNCW not knowing anyone and was nervous about going through recruitment because it wasn’t something I never really considered. I decided I wanted to just try it but after talking to the girls during recruitment and seeing how much love they had for each other I knew I needed to be apart of the sisterhood! These girls have shown me true friendship, support, and love and I couldn’t thank them more! I have genuinely loved every experience and opportunity I have been given! I have made some of the best friends and couldn’t be more grateful for all Alpha Delta Pi has done for me! I will forever appreciate and cherish these memories!”
“Right after committing to UNCW, the first thing I started looking forward to was being a part of a sorority. I knew it was something I wanted to be a part of because I heard so many positive things about it, and it has definitely lived up to the expectation I had for it. I started the very first round of recruitment with ADPi, and it did not disappoint. The second I left that room I was so excited because I just knew that this was where I wanted to end up. Going back into the room on the last day was so nerve racking, but that’s when I felt the most at home. That’s when I met Rylee, who is now my big. Our conversation took the stress out of me and brought out such a comforting side. It felt like I had known her for forever. After now being a part of ADPi for a little over a semester, there is nothing I would have done differently. I can’t imagine how different my first semester would have been without all of the amazing memories made, and all of the girls I have met, who have now turned into my best friends! I am so excited for what the future will bring me in ADPi!!”
“Joining a sorority wasn’t at the top of my list coming to UNCW, but once I built the courage to attend the first round of recruitment I instantly knew this is where I needed to be. ADPi was my very first house and I knew as soon as I walked through those doors it was home. I connected so well with all of the girls and it felt like I know them all for years. ADPi isn’t just a name, it gave me lifelong friendships and a sisterhood that I wouldn’t change for the world, I’m so glad I get to call it home.”
